We must never underestimate the power of truth. The world is full of confusion because “the god of this world” is “the father of lies” (2 Corinthians 4:4; John 8:44). But Jesus is the light of the world (Matthew 5:14). He banishes the darkness of falsehood wherever he is heard. He is truth, and all he says liberates from the bondage of error. “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32).

Sunday school is a place where the love of truth is cultivated and the knowledge of truth is imparted. A steady, weekly diet of truth in the life of a child or an adult is invaluable. What greater gift can we give to each other than the truth about God and His expectations for how we journey towards wholeness in Christ.

Matthew 18:20

God-centered worship is supremely important in the life of our church. We approach the Sunday morning worship hour with great anticipation of meeting God.

20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”

Our anticipation and preparation during the week will be important in helping us to love worship and be participants rather than observers.

Shout for joy to God, all the earth;
sing the glory of his name;
give to him glorious praise!
Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!
So great is your power that your enemies come cringing to you.
All the earth worships you
and sings praises to you;
